THE PROCESS
Schumacher Construction can custom build the house of your
dreams. We use the latest technology along with award
winning designs to fulfill the wants and needs of our
customers. We can build anywhere from a 1,000 square foot cozy
cottage to a 16,000 sq. ft. modular estate. Every home we build
gets the same level of care and attention to detail.
There are two ways to start the building
process. One is for us to show you an number of our standard
successful plans and let you choose the one that best meets your
needs. The second way is to visit us with your custom plan and
have us review it for both pricing and scope of work. There is a
third way to go about getting the home of your dreams and that
is to combine the two. Which ever path we take to get you your
dream home we know you will be happy with the finished product.
Once a floor plan is complete, we meet with
you to fine tune the design and plan. Every aspect of your new
home is reviewed right down to which way a door swings so when
we release the house for production we are comfortable knowing
you will be thrilled with the end product. WE then send this
refined design to the factory to provide us with a highly
detailed plan of your home. One more review is required to make
sure we all agree that this is exactly what you want your new
home to be.
Once we submit the final order to the factory
a production spot is selected , final plans are drawn and sent
to the third party inspection for stamps and seals and the site
work process starts. Quality control inspectors, as well as
independent third party inspectors, monitor every aspect of the
construction. A complete home is ready for shipment usually in
about 30 days from start to finish once production starts.
Factory tours are available and encouraged to all prospective
customers as well as factory open houses. A tour of our homes
or factory will let you see all that is possible in modular home
construction today.
The set day is the most exciting day of the
entire process. Our factory experienced set crew, deliver and put the
modules on the foundation. Each piece is gently lifted, put
into place, leveled and attached. A complete home is usually
assembled and then it is ready for a walk through in a single
day. The home is water tight with cabinets, sinks, bathrooms,
and carpet already installed. A few short weeks of button-up
and connections to the utilities, which is work that is done on
site, and the home is ready for you to move into.

Home Building Tip!
Outstanding energy efficient
construction is the core of our building system. It is
the final finishes and features though that make us
stand out in the custom home industry. The photo to the
left takes a simple hall way from the foyer to a library
room. We added a nice transom over the double French
doors, added some colonial crown molding and finished
with a nice wide two piece base molding and extra wide
casing around the doors. Some nice recessed lights light
up the area and show off your finished product. We
especially like to use natural lighting wherever
possible and for this library which features extra long
windows it only made good sense to share that natural
light with the foyer too! |
